Hello! I'm Kathy Smith, and my students affectionately know me as Ms. Kathy. With over 15 years of experience in education, my passion is helping students become the best and brightest. I launched Summa School in 2019 as a small tutoring program, and I am excited to extend its reach to foster student engagement across the nation. I believe engaged students are students who learn, and I absolutely love creating music and literature that make learning fun.

Summa School's Current Offerings
Classroom Read-alouds
This offering features on-site school visits to perform read-alouds of Ms. Kathy's books of your choice. Also included are paperback copies for students, wholesale pricing for additional books, and personalized book signings for students and teachers.
Student Engagement Sessions
Interactive student engagement sessions are facilitated by Ms. Kathy and emphasize best practices for engagement and chronicle her creative and publishing processes. This session motivates teachers to explore and express their creativity to increase engagement and includes a detailed walkthrough of the self-publishing process. Virtual options are available.
Teacher Authors Academy
What should teachers do when the best content-related resources for their students have yet to be published? They should publish them! In the multi-day Teacher Authors Workshop, Ms. Kathy walks teachers through the process of self-publishing to enhance instruction. Teachers can choose a picture book, workbook, or instructional non-fiction pathway during this workshop designed to provide hands-on experience with self-publishing from start to finish. The self-publishing process features no out-of-pocket costs for teachers and provides a step-by-step opportunity for teachers to become published authors. Workshops are offered in a virtual format to support teachers as they create with digital tools.
Virtual Read-alouds
